On the evening of June 20, 2024, we held our inaugural Future Counter Fraud Community (FCFC) workshop, Setting the Scene, designed to present an overview of tackling fraud and the benefits of an effective mentoring scheme.
The session brought together mentees and industry experts for an insightful discussion guided by the esteemed Paul Barnard, Senior Advisor Investigations, Pinkerton, Emma Jones, Assistant Director, Catch22 and Matt Field, Head of the Fraud Advisory Panel.
Paul Barnard delivered a captivating overview of the history of fraud by tracing its origins back to ancient Greece and in the process, providing valuable context whilst reminding us that counter-fraud work is an ongoing campaign.
Emma Jones delved into the advantages of mentoring, highlighting the crucial relationship between mentees and mentors. The audience was highly engaged, contributing fantastic ideas on how to be effective in both mentoring and being mentored.
While this session has concluded, the journey doesn’t end here. We encourage those who haven’t yet joined to become part of the FCFC as a mentee. Regardless of where you are in your career, there is always more to learn and gain from this enriching experience.
Stay tuned for more events and opportunities to collaborate and grow as part of the community.
